I recently conducted a Training of Trainers seminar for party leaders and staffers preparing for the European Parliament election with national elections around the corner, and a potential referendum to secede from Spain in the backdrop. No shortage of issues to unwind, with a different set of election targets, objectives and messages to sort out. Good thing we had the BEST SNACKS for a campaign training, ever, to motivate us. So much for my years spent organizing strategy sessions with labor unions in the US in the basement of really depressing buildings where you would be lucky to get a stale Dorito at break. But one thing the US is good at, maybe not snacks for trainings, but understanding and utilizing tools for grassroots organization, which is where Europe is catching up.
